oaDummyPolyExtension (oacDummyPolyExtension)

Description

The built-in oacDummyPolyExtension layer array constraint specifies the required extension of dummy poly shapes beyond the adjacent shapes on the active layer. If a gate is already joined to another gate above or below, the constraint does not apply. The first layer is the gate layer, the second is the dummy gate layer and the third is the active layer. This constraint uses a parameter to specify the maximum ghost poly width at which it applies.

Constraint at a Glance

Constraint type: oaLayerArrayConstraint (Number of layers: 3)
Value types: oaIntValue
Database types: oaTech
Object types: oaAppObject

Values

The following value types are supported by this constraint:

Parameters

The following parameters are supported by this constraint:

Name Value Type Units Default Description
width
oacWidthConstraintParamType
oaIntValue DBU (Required)

oacDummyPolyExtension uses a single parameter to designate the maximum ghost polysilicon width at which this constraint applies. An oaConstraintParam of type oacWidthConstraintParamType represents the maximum ghost polysilicon width, in database units, at which this constraint applies.

Manufacturing Reasons

In some process technologies, dummy polysilicon shapes must exist on either side of a gate shape.
