maxClearance (oacMaxClearance)

Description

The built-in layer pair constraint definition oacMaxClearance specifies the maximum separation between two different shapes on two different layers, in database units. Clearance constraints apply only to edges that have no intersections. Clearances are specified from the outside edge of the shape on the first layer to the outside edge of the shape on the second layer.

This constraint definition is symmetric, implying that the maximum clearance between layer1 and layer2 is the same as the maximum clearance between layer2 and layer1.

This constraint is not used as a foundry constraint. It is available to constrain design tools for layout strategy or floorplanning purposes.
