mergeSpaceAllowed (oacMergeSpaceAllowed)

Description

The built-in layer constraint definition oacMergeSpaceAllowed specifies the threshold at which geometries on the same layer that do not meet the required minimum spacing can be merged into one shape. If the distance between the two geometries is smaller than the specified value, you can merge (fill the space) between the geometries.

This is commonly used for notch filling, as a post process step for compaction.

Manufacturing Reasons

Certain geometries, particularly wells, have constraints that require a certain minimum spacing. If the minimum spacing cannot be maintained, this constraint allows for merging the two shapes together to correct the rule violation.
